Established in 2004, Hype Media is a marketing and event management firm based in Calgary, Canada. We’re a small company but we’re big on ideas, drawing from over 20 years of combined experience. Our clients range from one-man operations to large corporations.
From brand strategy and identity design, to print and web design, to email marketing, and corporate event management, we work with you first to determine and then to set in motion the marketing campaign that will best serve your interests. Marketing & Creative Director
Eric Gooden is a dedicated marketing professional with over ten years’ experience in building brands, leading multi-channel marketing campaigns, developing communications strategies, providing creative direction and design, and producing corporate events. A seasoned creative director with skills in print and web design, project management, event management, photography, and content marketing, he is passionate about brands and their people. Motivated by challenge and driven by results, Eric brings into play a proven ability to manage multiple projects and resources concurrently through all stages of production.
In his spare time Eric can be found exploring foreign locales, snowboarding in the Rockies, sharing his culinary prowess with family and friends in the kitchen, or behind the bar building the perfect cocktail.
Fernando comes to us with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Print Media from Alberta College of Art & Design as well as a diploma in New Media Production & Design from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He has employed his extensive creative talents and programming capabilities to great effect in the design of promotional/advertising material, logo, identity, branding, and packaging design as well as website development. In addition, he has directed both photographic and event video shoots as well as assisting in event coordination and management. Most recently, Fernando worked as designer for an interactive design firm on projects for such clients as Telus, Suncor, and Koodo Mobile.
A native of Nicaragua who emigrated to Canada as an adolescent, Fernando is fluent in both Spanish and English. With a passion for other countries, their people, cultures, art, architecture, and food, he exploits his getaway time whenever possible.
Senior Web Developer & Marketing Manager
Andrew Carew is a marketing professional that has geared his skillset towards web development while also providing comprehensive inbound marketing plans to help shift his clients’ marketing and lead generation strategies from outbound tactics to a higher-converting inbound approach. Andrew is well-versed in building content strategies, inbound marketing plans, buyer cycles, and front-end development. He strives to build relationships by educating his clients on the process and benefits of building a strong online presence.
With his Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing & Sales, Andrew constantly stays up to date on the industry through various conferences and online channels. Outside of work he has dedicated his time to living an active lifestyle with a regular workout regimen. He also grew up training in Judo, and enjoys practicing Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training over the years as time permits.
Senior Editor & Writer
Elizabeth began her post-secondary education as an English and French major at the University of Toronto and subsequently changed her major to Italian at Carleton University in Ottawa. She worked for many years for an employee benefit and consulting firm, initially in the communications department overseeing the production of personalized benefit statements in English and French, then as head of the research department. Since 2000, Elizabeth has been working as an editor and copywriter.
